About Jessica Cadence

Jessica is originally from the Island of Trinidad & Tobago and grew up in Atlanta. She is an artist rooted in versatility and emotional authenticity. Jessica composes music for every story honoring its unique emotional truth, whether that's the intimate character-driven drama or the epic adventure. Her multicultural foundation, combined with 17 years of classical piano training and professional experience, allows her to approach each project with both technical excellence and cultural sensitivity." She draws inspiration from her favorite composers, Maurice Ravel and Caroline Shaw.
​​A Presidential Award Music scholarship recipient at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music where she is completing a BM in Media Scoring & Production. She is mentored by Dr. Carlos Rafael Rivera, a distinguished three-time Emmy winner, Grammy winner, and Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences member and Grammy-winning producer Randall M. Barlow.
​Jessica composes for film, television, and video games and supports independent production companies in Atlanta. She has built a professional scoring career alongside academic studies by being part of Delta Kappa Alpha, a professional film fraternity at the University of Miami. These connections with the film community at UM, has resulted in works for “Red Memories” by Megan Marley (under Megs Media Productions), and “James Outlaw: The Epiphany” by Jeremiah Chaparro. Jessica also supports several movie directors at U-Miami’s Scores for Silver Screen. This event features student films accompanied by live orchestral performances of works from members of the Society of Composers

Alongside her composing work, she is also a Coral Gables community piano teacher, pianist, music producer, guitarist and songwriter. ​Jessica supports projects with compressed deadlines; her mantra is “work faster and smarter while serving the director's vision.” She is a skilled musician; composer, orchestrator, collaborator and problem-solver who delivers compelling artistic work.
